TRYOUT INFORMATION
Girls
Head Coach: rolfc@hebisd.edu 2. Encourage your parents to join and participate in the LD Bell Soccer Booster Club. When are tryouts?Tryouts begin the first Monday after Thanksgiving. They begin promptly at 3:30 pm and will conclude at 5:30 pm. Depeding on the number of prospective players, try-outs may run until Wednesday or Thursday, each day beginning at 3:30pm. Where are tryouts?Tryout will be held at the LD Bell High School soccer fields. Who is eligible? All 9th graders in the LD Bell High School attendance zone are eligible. What do I need to bring to tryouts? Please bring cleats, athletic shorts, sweats (if weather is cold), white t-shirt, running shoes, shin guards, a physical completed on the school UIL physical form (9th grade year physical or a copy of it), and a copy of your most recent report card. How does the selection process work? Boys: The best 15-20 players will be selected to play Varsity. The next 15-20 players will be selected to play Junior Varsity. Boys can have 9th graders on the Junior Varsity due to not having a Junior High program.
What do I need to do to notify my Junior High? Please have your parents write a letter stating your intentions to tryout for High School soccer. A copy of this letter should be given to your principal, your athletic coordinator and to your head soccer coach at LD Bell High School. If I don’t make the team my freshman year, can I tryout
again next fall? We always welcome anyone back who wants to try again and many
players return as sophomores and make the team. To try-out as a sophomore,
you must be enrolled in the Off-Season Soccer class during the 1st
trimester of your sophomore year. How do I get to LD Bell? According to HEB School District rules, your parent/guardian is legally responsible for getting you to and from practices and tryouts. How do I get out of school? You must check in with your Junior High coach or athletic coordinator before leaving to come to practice. Sincerely,
